new tires for 2006 mustang

Postby doctor_stang » Tue Jun 29, 2010 5:35 pm

I'm looking to buy new tires for my 06 Mustang GT and have been shopping all the tire shops and online. I found an online site based in Ottawa called Car Modifier http://www.carmodifier.com/
Their prices seem reasonable, but i've never heard of them. Has anyone ever dealt with them before?

I did a domain name search, which says this website is owned by Goldwing Autocare at 1750 Bank Street, Ottawa phone 613-727-7000. I bought winter tires from them at their Colonnade Rd location (www.goldwingautocare.com) and had no serious problems/issues.

Thanks for your input... I spoke with their sales guy on the phone and he was very helpful and did tell me that gold wing was their main installer. Their prices (for some tires) are almost as good as the Tire Rack in the U.S. when you factor in the shipping, exchange, duty etc. So it sounds like you had an ok experience buying the tires there. Did they do the installation also? I live in Kingston so i'd probably have the tires shipped and installed here.

I bought four Hankook winter tires for my Miata last fall from Goldwing and had them do the installation. They had the best prices in town and the work was fine. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either.

I also just bought a set of four Enkei Racing wheels and Yokohama summer tires for my Miata from an online retailer from B.C., www.1010tires.com. Their prices were much cheaper than anyone in Ottawa, including Goldwing. The wheels and tires arrived mounted, balanced and ready to install with all new hardware. Be sure to check them out too. Similar business model to Tire Rack, but they're Canadian. No border, duties or *gulp* UPS extortionists to worry about.
