My camera was misplaced over the weekend, so I don't have any new pictures to post. I have the intake manifold off of the car (it will be for sale if anyone wants it...), and i have started into the wiring part. I have to extend several of the wiring harnesses. Fun! And Christian was over on Sunday helping me grind off the knock sensoe bosses. No going back now!

Who else has taken an angle grinder to their engine block? Anyone?

Tonight, some minor progress. I changed the spark plugs to Denso U-grooves, one heat range cooler than stock. If anyone needs some used Motorcraft Platinum plugs, I'll part with them for cheap :-)!

I also took the opportunity to replace the coil covers with the ones I got for Christmas!

The KB kit includes mounting hardware for the shaker, so it will look completely stock when all is said and done. The kit also includes a plate to block of the inside of the scoop. I'm not sure if I will use that or not - the scoop will not let cool air in to cool of the supercharger, and let hot air out, but it will also let rain and dirt in.

You really don't want all the crap coming in thru an open scoop, if you're going to keep the sccop, block it off. Me, I'd put a new hood on painted to match the car (including the stripes)

Here are theupdates up to today.

Most of the stock sensors and hoses are back on.

The black coolant cross-over tube was a major pain to put in. And the alternator and belt (and the black front plate!) were a pain too. And I can't get the filler cap out of my old cross-over tube, so I ordered a new one from campbell's - $44 before the NCMA discount.

And the tube that KB sent for connecting the coolant tube to the radiator is way too big. I cut my stock one to fit, but I think it is a little bit too big. I'm going to add a couple hose clamps to it, but I'll be checking that for leaks...

Hopefully I can wrap it up by the end of next weekend. Busy work at week this week, so progress might be slow. My winter project is turning into a spring project.

The pressure's on Steve. Will it be ready for the Annual General Meeting (Grace Presbyterian Church in Orleans at 7:30 p.m on April 17th) ??

Looking forwards to seeing the end results. My fav photo is the one that looks like TONKA made all the parts, LOL.

I actually don't have that much left to do, I just haven't had much time to work on it lately. I still need to install the rest of the MAF/cold-air intake, the heat exchanger, and a few more electrical items. Shouldn't take too long if I don't hit too many more snags, like the buld in my work light burning out...

More progress this weekend. I actually feel like I'm going to finish some day. I need to pull the EEC, install the chip, and install the boost-a-pump. Then I can do a test start to make sure the heat exchanger isn't leaking inside the engine - that would be BAD! My car hasn't started for quite a while, and I've cut and modified so many wiring harnesses, I just hope this things fires right up!

Here is a picture if the PITA cold air intake. I'm digging the size of this air filter. The exact location makes me nervous about driving in the rain a little bit - until I see exactly where water ends up going...

And here is an engine bay shot. Not much left to do under the hood except wire up the control relay for the heat exchanger pump, and re-install the shaker.

Maybe I'll take a vactaion day or two or three this week and finish this project off!
