The Mustang Shop, Calgary

Postby PEGAZUS » Mon Jul 26, 2010 6:16 pm

Taking Eric's advice, I checked out the Canadian equivalent of American Muscle during a recent trip out west. Jason picked up a set of mirrored MUSTANG letters for his 2003 GT convertible (previous PEGAZUS), and I picked up a set of rail covers for the 2008 GTCS. The installation of rail covers, like with most instructions, work best after you have tossed out their suggestions. You have to attach the rail cover side screws before putting the top screws in place and not the way around. Borrowed photos:

First off those covers look great. Well done. The Mustang Shop is a great place. I have bought lots of stuff from them. In fact I was looking at stuff on their web site earlier this evening. For the benefit other members, their web address is http://www.themustangshop.ca/

HI

They look great. Nice addition.
About the Mustang Shop, is it a large facility? Do they do installation of their products etc. Talked to them but have no idea what the place actually looks like.

Cheers

Eric, it's in a strip mall in an industrial area, found only because of the GPS on car dash. The public can strool through an area 30 feet wide by 100 feet long crammed with a fairly wide assortment of parts, but due to the limited real estate, very little of anything in quantity or year sequence (1965-2011) is on display. As a result, you have to ask the staff to retrieve items from a larger storage area behind the main desk - which is fine as long as they have what you're after.

I wrote to them asking about the matching fuse box cover and no reply has been received after 3 days of waiting. Got the impression they have been there a long time. The limited size of their store and warehouse means they might stock the most popular items only? If so, there may be a delay in getting some parts. You might already know that.

There might be an area for installation work - didn't ask - but it appeared to me that there was more to the back room than just boxes of stock.

Hi

Well that is interesting. I mentally had a different idea of what the place was like. Yeah, they may very well have an installation bay at back of store.
Have not had any problem ordering what I was looking for but I think you are right. They only retain those items most requested. Besides, most places like this only send out an order request when to their suppliers when they receive and order. Too costly to stock today.

Thanks

Eric
