Restoration projects?

Postby PEGAZUS » Tue Feb 23, 2010 10:47 pm

This phantom has been seen several times during the past 2 years. It appears - it disappears - it reappears. Eventually, it was spotted, parked in an alley. The VIN number confirms it is a 1972 with the Cobra Jet engine. What this car needs more than a proper car cover and (OMG) indoor winter storage, is restoration.

Have you spotted any worth restoring?

Good one, Kyle!! Well, someone got out the snow shovel and cleared a route for the '72 and took it for a spin. It's easy to spot, parked near the hyway 7 & 15 intersection at the moment. Took PEGAZUS for a run this afternoon too. Thanks to the new Ford Cougar turn signal kit, the trip was in-sequential (there's a really bad pun in there somewhere, Wolfgang).

The weather has been so nice, I wish I could take the Mach out for a spin. Too bad it has no coolant in it, is up on jack stands, the alternator and throttle body are sitting on the table in the garage, and I have all the fuel injector's disconnected. The Mach is in the middle of a "restoration" of it's own...

The new MACH 1 will be ready soon, I bet. Looking forwards to a show & tell night. You've made / are making quite a few changes this winter.

I drove to work today. Insert evil grin here.

I got pulled over (sort of, I was parked) by Lance, in his new blue 2010 Mustang. I gave him the website info - and hope he joins the NCMA. He pointed out quite a few features of the 2010 that I didn't know about.

It's important to post info in the "future members section" about NCMA events and meetings. It will encourage them to join up. Thursday's gathering this week is advertised - excellent. We get info though emails too but that isn't always cross-posted to the GENERAL section of the website.

I have Andrew set up to post news on the front page, and I think he has been on top of that. Since I'm not on the exec anymore, I don't get advanced notice of upcoming events anymore...

Yup, I'm on top of it. I have also been posting stuff to the calendar. Unfortunately the calendar puts it in, in the order the I enter it not necessarily chronologically. So when you select a month the events may not me in order. That is something that our skilled webmaster will have to fix when he isn't busy installing stuff on his Mach.

The updates are terrific. 2010 events, instead of old news on the home page= excellent.

The 1972 Mach 1 was moved close to the intersection of highway 7 and 15 in Carleton Place, and has now been sold.

2 blocks east was a black 1991 5.0L manual tranny fastback (from Texas) that has also been sold.
